If you’ve seen Bon Iver live recently you’ve probably heard them cover Björk’s Who Is It? (which happens to be one of my favorite Björk songs). Bon Iver’s version isn’t that different from the original; it is -of course- a bit more folk-y, but with the sax solo in the second half and Justin Vernon singing “Carry my joy on the left, carry my pain on the right” with that incredible falsetto of his a must-hear anyhow. Taken from Bon Iver’s iTunes Session EP, which is available now on iTunes.
Weep not for roads untraveled
Weep not for paths left lone
Cause beyond every bend is a long blinding end
Its the worst kind of pain I’ve known
Give up your heart left broken.
And let that mistake pass on
Cause the love that you lost wasn’t worth what it cost
And in time you’ll be glad it’s gone
Weep not for roads untraveled
Weep not for sights unseen
May your love never end and if you need a friend,
there’s a seat here along side me.
